I thought you may like to know what the shop is planning in relation to the Coronavirus outbreak for the next few months.
As you know from the news media the situation is changing daily, so I’ll keep you up to date via this page.
Current situation
The shop will remain open for as long as I am virus free or until advice from the government says that the shop has to be closed. In the meantime I am following guidelines released by the government and the NHS with regard to dealing with this current situation in the shop. Knit and natter social sessions will continue as normal. If you don’t want to come into the shop then remember we can take orders over the phone, via email or on our website online shop.
If you are self isolating
You can ring the shop and I can take your order over the phone. Someone can bring your order into the shop and I’ll sort your order. You can buy supplies from our online shop at www.thewoolpatch.com and I’ll post it to you.
If I have to self isolate
Both the shop and the online shop will have to close for 7 to 14 days.
Future situations
This is constantly changing but at this time these are the plans:
1. If, like Italy, all shops have to close (except supermarkets and chemists), you will still be able to order online and the orders can be sent out in the post. Unless the government says otherwise, I will still be allowed to go to the shop to sort orders out.
2. There are reports in the news media that the government are contemplating that every Briton over the age of 70 is to stay at home for an extended period to shield them from Coronavirus. If that happens then I will help out as much as possible with getting your fabric and yarn supplies to you to keep you crafting during your isolation. The local community is so important to me and to the life of the shop. Therefore if you are over the age of 70 and forced to stay at home please ring me to place your order or to have a chat over the phone if you’re feeling isolated. If you live within 5 miles of the shop, I’ll drop it off at your house or leave it in a safe place so you don’t have to pay for postage!
Don’t forget you can also place orders on our online shop or by phone or by emailing me, therefore there are lots of ways you can still get your crafting supplies so you will have something to do whilst isolated at home.
Hopefully all of this will help you to keep going with your projects.
Stuart
Thank you Stuart, you are an absolute trooper for keeping all us crafters going.

Hi Stuart. If I can deliver anything ( not too heavy!!) on foot around the village to anyone, I’m happy to act as go-between.
