I’m very excited to be going to the Spring Knitting and Stitching Show at Olympia on the first weekend in March. This means our first Come Bye and Craft will now be in April.
Saturday 6th April 2019 12pm to 4pm
We’ve already booked special guest Dorothy Ronaldson who will be demonstrating Free motion embroidery for all you sewing and crafting fans! Carry on reading to see what she will be demonstrating. As was the case in 2018 we will continue the format on the first Saturday of every month and will look forward to welcoming you to our social and crafting sessions.
Demonstrations on Free Motion Embroidery
2pm: Free motion embroidery Laminated cards
A great technique for beginners to free motion embroidery. Decorative papers are used to create mini collages in a laminating pouch. The resulting laminated design provides an easily controlled base for embellishment with free motion embroidery.
3pm: Free motion embroidered brooches
Another fun technique for beginners or those with a little experience of free motion embroidery. Foiled felt is cut to shape and sandwiched between two layers of sheer synthetic fabric in an embroidery hoop. Free motion embroidery is used to embellish the shapes. Finally a fabric soldering iron is used to solder out the shapes. Beads and hand embroidery can be added.

12-4pm: Knit, Crochet, Sew, Craft and Chat:
As usual from 12 to 4 you bring your craft and you chill and we’ll supply you with tea/coffee and biscuits/cakes. You can do as much or as little as you like during your time at Come Bye. You can just socialise and Craft or use the time to get your head down, concentrate and finish a project! It’s up to you. If you want to sew, please make sure you book your place and then let us know you want to sew so we can set up the tables and electrical equipment. You don’t have to come for all 4 hours, you can drop in and out as you please.
So Come Bye & Craft! We look forward to welcoming you.
